This is a significant milestone not only for John, but for Aotearoa. As the global organisation advancing the principles and practice of social value, Social Value International plays a key role in shaping how governments, businesses and communities understand, measure and create value.
John’s appointment reflects decades of leadership and the growing international recognition of the contribution New Zealand is making to the global social value movement.
As John said following his appointment:
“Social value has become one of the defining conversations of our time. Across governments, businesses and civil society, there is growing recognition that understanding what truly matters requires us to look beyond traditional measures of success.”
He also acknowledged the important role of Social Value International in advancing the movement:
“SVI has played a critical role in advancing this global movement, helping to strengthen the principles, practice and credibility of social value around the world. I am honoured to take on the role of Independent Chair and look forward to supporting the organisation’s continued leadership as we work to embed social value thinking into decision-making at every level.”
This appointment is a proud moment for the social value community in Aotearoa. We look forward to supporting John and working alongside colleagues across the global network as we continue to strengthen the principles, practice and impact of social value.
